I was wrapping my grandson’s birthday presents. I was using the wrapping paper that my son had given me when he and his wife divorced. It was wrapping paper she would use to wrap his presents with. He’s a hunter, thus it was deer wrapping paper. I am trying to use things I have instead of running out and buying more stuff, “just for the occasion.” When did it get so important to have things just perfect, the perfect wrapping paper, the perfect dish to serve something in, (I’m thinking of a pretty pie plate I have, and I don’t make pie, so maybe something else to release!). My 6 year grandson does not care what his wrapping paper looks like, only the presents in them. My granddaughter’s birthday is in a couple of weeks, and I was going to wrap her presents in the same paper and I stopped. She would notice. She would say something. She likes pink. This wrapping paper has no pink. So, my mind started thinking, should I go and buy her pink wrapping paper? And do I really care how a 5 year old thinks about wrapping paper? At this time, I haven’t done anything. I am thinking of using the white side of the paper and painting something pink on it, or maybe painting little pink crowns on the deer. Seriously, the things my mind finds to think about! Blessings.
