Releasing continued, well kind of….

I am continuing going through my things, stuff, etc and releasing. One thing is my Skipper doll from my childhood. It is one of the few things I have kept. She has a dress on that my grandmother made for her. My grandmother was a beautiful seamstress, unfortunately I did not take after her. I don’t know if I just wasn’t interested in learning, or if she liked to sew by herself, that being her time she was at peace. It was probably a little of both. I was never a Barbie girl. I liked my Skipper doll because her legs and arms were able to bend, and that made it possible for her to ride my plastic horses. I had 10 of them. I’ve always loved horses. My mother used to always joke that the first word I said was, “forsie”, not momma. Probably true. I’ve had several real horses in this lifetime, am currently without horse, but have a mini donkey and mini goat. Not the same, but something to keep the back acre weeded. Horses take a lot of work, time, money and I prefer to spend all those on other things now. I had my Skipper doll in one of my bedstand dresser drawers. A few months ago my granddaughter (5), was going through them and found her. She brought her to me and asked who’s it was, and I told her it was mine from childhood and explained the dress she was wearing. I put my Skipper doll back, but throughout the summer, Cora would find her. Cora does have 1 Barbie here at my house to play with, I don’t know how many at her house or her other grandmother’s house. She plays with it once in while. I decided the other day she was mature enough to play with my Skipper doll, to treat her with respect, I know it’s just a doll, but she still holds deep meaning for me, so I put her next to Cora’s Barbie when I rearranged her room the other day. It’s easier to play dolls when there is more than one. I smiled as I wrote that. It is easier to do almost anything when there is more than one. Even writing, because if I didn’t have others to ponder about, I would have nothing to write! I’ve been watching the Dolly Parton specials and one thing that has stood out to me is her quote, “I have to write songs, I don’t have a choice, it’s who I am.” or something like that. Same here, I love to write. I write about my life, and if just one person gets an inspiration, from maybe how I handled a situation, good or bad, I feel that is how I spread my Light, even if my Light didn’t seem to shine in a situation. So, yes, maybe releasing a Skipper doll isn’t a big thing, but to me it is, and if it helps someone else to release something they’ve been holding onto that will open up room for something new to come in, then I’ve done my job for the day. Blessings.
