I was going to take my time this morning drinking my coffee. I usually pour a cup and then sip it as I catch up on my emails and such, but this morning, I sat at my desk, warm coffee mug in my hand, sipping, enjoying every moment, watching the leaves gently dance as the wind flowed through them. My kitten, Sapphire was behind me batting around a jingle bell, all was peaceful. Then she went underneath my art canvas shelf; I though her jingle bell had gone under there and she was going after it. She shot out from underneath it, and kept looking at it, so I pulled the shelf out. And there it was. A big ugly centipede. I let out a little scream, Hubby called from the living room, asking if I was ok, I went in and told him about it. He found some wasp spray and saved the day. Thing is, I sit at my desk barefoot. I walk in my house barefoot. This is not the first centipede that has been in our house, they usually come out of the kitchen sink, and maybe this came out of the cracks because I just fogged the house for fleas and such. Still, it got my heart a beating, and my serene morning coffee, well interupted. I am trying to decide if this is an omen for the day, like watch out! Be careful! Danger Will Robinson! Or, if that is the worst of my day and the rest is smooth sailing, or if it was just coincidence, and I happen to be at the right place at the right time. Or the wrong place at the wrong time. I kind of have the Gibbs philosphy that there is no such thing as a coincidence. I am picking #2 as train of thought for the day, but will keep my Spidey senses alert, just in case. Blessings.
